Verruca Needling Treatment
Verruca needling is a highly effective treatment designed specifically for severe, stubborn, or treatment-resistant verrucas that have not responded to other methods. We use Falknor’s (Faulkner’s) needling technique, which works by stimulating a strong immune response to help your body recognise and fight the virus causing the verruca.
Success rate: Clinical studies suggest verruca needling has a success rate of approximately 60–80% after a single treatment, particularly in long-standing or resistant cases.
Age requirement: This procedure is suitable for patients aged 8 years and over
Best Suited for
- Long-standing or deep verrucas
- Verrucas resistant to treatments such as topical care or SWIFT therapy
- Painful or spreading lesions
- Patients requiring a more definitive, one-off approach
What’s Included
- Local anaesthetic to ensure comfort
- Needling of the verruca to trigger a strong immune response
- Dressing and full aftercare guidance
What to Expect
The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic, so you should not feel pain during treatment. Some soreness or tenderness is expected afterwards as the area heals. Recovery may take a little longer compared to non-invasive treatments.
Benefits
- Specifically designed for difficult or persistent cases
- Targets the root viral cause of the verruca
- Often effective when other treatments have failed
- May reduce the risk of recurrence
- Typically requires fewer treatments (often a single session)
